"This is England"

On a particularly average Thursday night, when obviously I was meant to be writing one of my many essays, my wandering eye turned to online shopping.
Usually these desperate online wanderings produce very little other than self loathing because student life has left me, to be blunt, poor.
However! When trawling the Topshop pages, hoping for inspiration for my wardrobe I stumbled upon their AW13 trend named; "This is England" - fantastic I thought, and indeed fantastic it was.

Say a big HELLO to tartan, to distressed/acid washed denim, leather skirts, chelsea boots, and lets not forget the classic denim jacket number. This trend has it all. Everything and anything that feels in any way 'vintage', 'quirky' or simply 'cool'.

If this isn't an excuse to raid vintage shops or Urban Outfitters for a pair of Levi's, I quite simply don't know what is.

Missguided have named this trend; 'Punk and Disorderly. A great twist on some classic 1980s look, a fresh angle.
This page too is glittered with tartan, leather, and of course the denim!

A few of my favourite key pieces across the Topshop trend page are as follows;
Vintage Renewal Levi's 550 Jeans
£45.00

Check A-Line Skirt
£42.00

Knitted Merino Tile Jumper
£50.00

AGE Chelsea Boots
£62.00

Now the only thing I need is an unlimited overdraft, and I think I would be set for Winter 2013.
Alas, I shall retreat to my window shopping online and hope for the best and recreate with my current wardrobe.

Hello University!

So here I am, in my first month of University, I couldn't tell you how long I have waited for this day to arrive, been far too long. So I ended up at Royal Holloway, University of London after going through clearing which was such a stressful process. I genuinely think however getting shit A level grades may have been one of the best things I've ever done - I know how silly that sounds but I feel like this is the university that I was meant to go to, its absolutely gorgeous and I've made so many good friends already - here's a picture.
So with my first term well under way the work is starting to pile on and the bank balance is looking more unhealthy than I've seen it in a long long time! I think I'm starting to truley understand the feeling of being a broke shopaholic, so much time to browse online and such little money to spend on it! Now of course I have an over draft, and yes it would so so simple to just dive head first into it starting with a huge shopping spree however I think nowadays food has become a slightly higher priority in my mind...anyone that knows me will just laugh at that - "Hattie the Fattie" "Trough Monster" are just a few nicknames I've picked up in my time!

I am absolutely loving university though, made some fabulous friends... just a few snaps from freshers!

I also made it into the netball seconds which is amazing, and I am absolutely in love with playing again, forgot how much I loved it!!

A N Y W A Y

I'll hopefully post again soon back to more relevant issues of shopping with no money and where to find the hottest buys!

Perhaps not budget, but definite bargain

So recently I started my new job as a sales advisor for Hobbs clothing, I was very unprepared for just how much hard work it would be - especially selling! I was also unprepared for just how much I would fall in love with the clothes.
I know I don't wear suits, but the suits they have are gorgeous. However I'm here mainly to talk about the a new range that Hobbs has brought out!

The new brand at Hobbs is called NW3, and it is amazing!! Here are a few 'key looks' from the website:
The Statement Jumpsuit
The 70s Inspired Dress
The Button Down Skirt
and here are some of their stunning key pieces!

They have some really great looks in their range and I cannot wait to get my hands on some more of it with my staff discount! The materials on all the items are something else, everything is so well cut and made it all fits beautifully on almost everyone. I definitely know where I'm shopping next time I'm having a big spending spree!

Everyone hit up Hobbs!!

Secret of my denim short collection...

I don't think I would ever being happy wearing a pair of denim shorts that are not levi vintage or 'wrangler', I absolutely adore the style of them and they are so very often cheaper than a pair of topshop wannabees. Here are a few of my favourite pairs:

All of these are perfectly simple denim shorts with a little bit of character to add a bit of 'shazzam' to your outfit so to speak! All from rockit online vintage website (http://www.rokit.co.uk/), and all the shorts tend to be no more than £25 - brilliant value for the label you're getting! Why spend £40 at topshop for look a likes when you can get the real thing for a lower price?! That's right, go get out your debit/credit cards and go buy yourself a pair! Looking at all these denim shorts has made me excited for summer now! Cannot wait!

Can shorts be too short?!

After hitting up Watford town the other night in a pair of these shorts  from miss selfridge with no tights, it occurred to me can shorts be too short?! These thankfully covered up my bum, however there were numerous girls with the bums hanging out....and men just freely groping them. Who knew this would be socially acceptable just because you're in a club!
Anyway, as per usual I have been procrastinating away and shopping online and found so many pairs of shorts perfect for nights out! ...One's that also prevent your arse hanging out open to groping.
My first pair are from the empty back balance saver  missguided.com  at  £20. Now these shorts are definitely a one hit wonder and will let you stand out from the crowd! Paired with a plain black top you have your party look sorted on the perfect broke balance!

These shorts are from topshop and are £35. I reckon these are for a more casual night out, but with even just a plain black strapless top this could be a class outfit straight away! An outfit way under £50 right there, more money to spend drinks, and bottom fully covered up!

These are the more middle priced pair at £45 from asos. Again these are a great staple piece for a night out, and just a simple black top is needed to complete this outfit, let the shorts do that talking!

These absolute beauties are from asos and come at a slightly high price of £90. I don't think I even need to say anything about these other than they would be one of the best investments you could make, without a shadow of a doubt.

There are the 3 best partying shorts I've seen around right now in a range of prices! Get shopping girls!

Hey!

So after reading my best friends blog, I simply just had to make one!
So like most girls, I am forever wanting to buy new clothes, new make up and just new things, but like most 17 year olds I find money doesn't exactly grow off a tree.
With a part-time job, driving lessons and a summer holiday to pay for I can't always fulfil my desire of literally shopping until I drop,
so this is what my blog is about, everything I would buy if I had the money, and also how to shop on a budget and top tips of how to get that extra dollar off your rents!

Can't wait to start blogging,
